Built properly
Makai is a native Flutter app for iOS and Android on a Firebase backend, with Stripe Connect handling money movement and a Next.js operations dashboard behind it.
Payments fail open, never closed: a tax-service outage can never block a booking, a capture, or a refund. That is a deliberate design rule, and it is the difference between a marketplace people trust with a season's income and one they don't.
